High Raise 2,500 ft
Helvellyn 3,117 ft

32 miles

10,365 ft

24 hours is the traditional target, achievable by fast and fit parties. Can be extended to 2–3 days for less extreme and/or vehicle supported itineraries.

Rocky paths and some low grade rock scrambling.

Extreme as a 24 hour challenge. If extended over multiple days and/or support vehicles are used between mountains it can be reduced to merely a tough challenge.

April–September is best but can be attempted all year round, weather permitting.

This is a significantly challenging mental and physical trial which requires good planning, fitness, nutrition and hill-walking experience.
